Tony V's is a dive bar with excellent food. The spot is a storefront with a roller garage door. There are a few sidewalk tables and a large dining room in the back. We had a cheeseburger and a turkey bacon sandwich both with fries and a pickle and a beer. The food was delicious and huge portions. The service was very good and Tony V came out to introduce himself and check on the food. Really good place. I wish we had come here earlier in the trip because we would have come 2 nights in a row.
Honestly nowhere beats this place on a beautiful day with that big door wall open and everyone is hanging out for lunch I try to stop in every time I have business nearby- the price on the Michigan Salad for its size and quality is fantastic- that's my very favorite and whatever cocktail they have on the special board on the wall Today it was like a mint cosmo I had to grab my salad to go because my appointment was moved up - I brought it home and we both ate it for dinner Everyone working here is so nice- they're hustling the take-out orders so they're busier than it will seem to you Neighborhood gem
I took the food to-go and the food was warm and fresh. Their service was quick and excellent. Their portions were worth the price and the place is big and clean. I came during quiet hours so I can't really say much but I would recommend this place for sure!
Cheap prices and always has good happy hour deals. Due to having very small crowds, the service is always quick (server Krista is amazing)! In the main dining room, music is loud and plays mostly rap. The food is not incredible, likely frozen, and I find it varies on different days. Think of it as bar food rather than a 5 star restaurant. Similar to coney island quality. OVERALL If you are looking for a not busy dive bar/restaurant in the Midtown/New Center area I would recommend stopping by!
Tony Rocks! Tony V's is well worth it! Tony is a great guy, who is more concerned about his customers than anything else. The staff and atmosphere are top notch. The beers and food selection are all you could ask for, and Tony and his staff take care of you. We went to the area looking for the Carhartt store, but stumbled across Tony V' in the process. Met Tony outside, and he was a great guy. Spent the next couple hours on his place enjoying great drinks and awesome food. Next time I'm in Detroit, I am definitely heading to Tony V's! You should too!
Yummie bar food and the best servers! Great spot for hanging out especially in good weather
Tony V's never let me down. This was the very first restaurant I went to in Detroit. Wide range of bar food. Tony is hella nice and comes around to speak to everyone- which is a nice touch. There's a lot of food/drink specials depending on the day. The outside veranda is nice on summer days. I go here for comfort food.
We came here after shopping at the Carhartt store and I'm glad we tried it. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Also, the owner was super friendly and greeted our table and offered us a complimentary drink because it was our first time visiting. We will be back!
